En-Gedi Children’s Home - October 2025 Update

Our dear friends and co-workers in the Lord: we rejoice in the Lord our God, who created us and who daily sustain us. We have all been well, healthy and happy. Through all of you who pray for us, support us and those of you who are able to visit us, we have been nourished physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially. It’s because of your friendship, adorned with our God’s love and grace that we have been well. Despite their limitations, our children are able to draw from us love, joy and family unity here at En-Gedi Home. Thank you for being one with us in this joy “for we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Eph2:10).

We thank God that En-Gedi Home has continued to be a model for best practices in the support and care for children with special needs. We have many families and groups of people who have visited us the recently and in the past months and their feedback to us affirms this our vision.

We continue to trust God for our future expansion of En-Gedi Home. I have met many families with challenged children, who though given some care, are often left alone in seclusion and indoors as parents go away in search of their daily bread and other childen go to school. I have also been told of abuse of some of those severely challenged children by those entrusted to care for them. Keep with us in prayer that the land next to En-Gedi that we want to purchase will be freed for this planned expansion. But also believe with me that God’s timing is the right time – He leads – I follow.

Every month that we have a child’s birthdate, we cerebrate their birthdays even though most of them do not figure anything. We share a cake and say a prayer of thanks to God for giving that child another year of life. Our call is to let them fully enjoy their God-given lives until they cross over into heaven or until our Lord Jesus comes back. This month of October, we have birthdays for 4 boys and only 1 can decifer something. Regardless, they all bear God’s image.

In July, we hosted high school students and some youth leaders/parents from Prinsburg and Willmar, MN. The group worshipped with us one Sunday morning in my PCEA Church, among the many adventures we undertook together. We love visitors.
We love you and value your partnership in this ministry. May God keep us connected in serving Him, for His own glory and honor.
